Grab for the Gold

Location:

8 miles south of Aspen. I rate this hike easy with ***** stars for beauty.

Don’t forget to bring your camera.
First to show off its Fall colors this year is The Maroon Bells – Snowmass Wilderness. Maroon Lake at 9,580 feet is especially beautiful framed by the mountains and fall colors. This is one of the most photographed places in the country. You can hike or bike at anytime of the year to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness area. After taking pictures of the lake you can continue on for a longer hike to the foot of the mountains to Crater Lake. But get this, you can take a bus shuttle to and from the start of the trail to Maroon Lake.

The Aspen Highland Ski bus shuttle runs Friday, Saturday Sunday through Sept 28

The shuttle is 8 miles south of Aspen on Maroon Creek Road.

It leaves every 20 min with the last bus leaving at 4:30 pm.

$6.00 per adult $4.00 for children.

Fall in Love

Every fall in the Rockies a fantastic color show starts, as green leaves turn to brilliant shades of yellow, orange and red.
This otherworldly display starts as daylight shortens and temperature drops, preparing the trees for winter.

In the coming weeks, I will tell you were to go and follow the changing of the leaves from the higher elevations down.

Tomorrow hang onto your camera and get ready for a spectacular display and a weekend hike or drive.
